Jodhaa Akbar Strong On Saturday

Jodhaa Akbar had a decent start on Friday but has seen excellent business on Saturday with multiplexes recording 90%+ business and single screens around 85%. Business is best in the big cities with smaller centres lower. The first day business was 3.25 crore nett but business on Saturday will be around double that. Jodhaa Akbar has cost around 45 crore and will recover this money for its makers UTV but it is very difficult to tell if the film will be a hit or not as audience verdict seems mixed with a section of the public liking and another section being not so kind.


Weekend business is expected to be 16-17 crore nett. The advantage for the film is that there is no major release in the next few weeks which may help the collections to hold up better but it is a wait and watch situation as to how collections go from Monday onwards.
